Nathan Zemp

Nathan Zemp is a young composer from Langley, BC. His love of composing began in the 8th grade at Langley Fine Arts School, where he began to write Baroque-style minuets and fugues. He carries with him elements of counterpoint influence as well as a passion for underappreciated key signatures and a desire to evoke beauty and joy in every piece. He has written a multitude of varied works, including a Tuba Concerto in A major, the score for the opera Seconds, Years, Forever (collaboration with Howard Chen) and the playful march Good Calcium. Nathan currently attends Simon Fraser University and plays bassoon in the New Westminster and District Concert Band and the Langley District Honour Orchestra.
